[It's the middle of summer and they're stuck house sitting. Their dad is away for the whole month.... Not really that unusual, he's always away on business. And their mom has been gone for a long while now. So it's just him, in charge of taking care of things, and his brother.

And the heat. Noel flops on the couch next to his little brother and groans, passing over a soda. It's already evening but the heat just doesn't let up. It really saps the strength out of Noel, but what it also does is... Well.

It's difficult being a teenager and gay and alone in a house with your brother who is actually really hot and you absolutely should not find attractive because he's your brother, and so as usual Noel slides his eyes away from his brother quickly after passing him the soda. Dinner was about half an hour ago so there's nothing left to do but sort of melt together in this heat.]

It's too hot to live. Revive me when it's November.

Okay. What do you want for breakfast?

Whatever you'd like. [normally he says something specific, so this might be him being more earnest.]

...Cereal.

[IT'S EASY don't judge him.]

I'll make coffee.

[Because he doesn't know about you mister tried to exhaust himw ith sex and stayed up, but he's still kind of tired.]

Now we're talking. [rolls off him cheerfully]

[plotluck]

[Oh no. But his brother was warm and comfortable. Oh well, cereal and coffee sound good though, and he's climbing off the couch for that purpose.]

[Noel already promised to make coffee so Rowan takes cereal into his own hands]

[plotluck]

[A complex mission but one suited for Rowan. But yeah starting coffee and joining him for cereal.]

[sliding a bowl his way!]

[Taking it!

Breakfast is very exciting. Or well, not really but it's enjoyable to have with his brother and over the next couple days things are pretty normal except for the inclusion of magic lessons. And you know, also the fact that they're still fucking a lot and are biologically related but normal for them anyway.

One night after sex and a shower and round of slowly figuring out what form of magic best works for Noel, long after both have fallen asleep, Noel slips out of bed around three in the morning to grab a drink.

It's about when he closes the fridge to head back to bed that Rowan will feel the surge of tainted magic from the living room.]

[that wakes him up really fast, and the first thing he does is reach for where Noel had been in bed with him when he fell asleep. not finding him there stabs a cold shard of dread into his chest. but there's no time to panic, and instead Rowan barrels (naked) into the living room, magic threads already forming at his fingertips.]

[He'll run face-first into the cloying sweet scent of demonic aphrodisiac. Heady and overwhelming. The thing is just kind of. In the living room, bulging and writing and entirely out of place.

It's not just one center of mass either. I'm gonna make up bullshit about tentacle monsters now. They're a low-level demon, not strictly dangerous in that they aren't real into violence, but really annoying and hard to defeat because they sprawl and spread and even one small part left unobliterated will let them regenerate and attach to a human to feed and grow.

At the moment there's a tentacle dropping down from the ceiling to slide over Rowan's back and two more crawling along the floor for his feet.]

[amurdermostfowl]

[Rowan is quick to lash out with his strings, pulling some full-on walter c. dornez shit, straight up shredding the tentacle that's already touching him and keeping his momentum forward, searching for his brother.] Noel?!

[plotluck]

[Rowan very impressively obliterates a tentacle. Further in the room there's a muffled noise that sounds like Noel but it's you know, too dark to make out.]

[amurdermostfowl]

[FORGES AHEAD, recklessly to be honest, he has his strings but not much else going for him right now, and the aphrodisiac is already starting to slow his movements.]

[plotluck]

[Noel is pinned to the wall by a few tentacles, but a few more are severed on the ground by him and he has a disc of light in one hand he's trying to fight back with.

The tentacles are still trying for Rowan too of course.]

[rowan loses all sense of perspective at the sight, bringing his strings to bear against the tentacles touching Noel and totally forgetting to fend them off for himself. just. mindlessly murder the ones touching his beloved brother.]

[plotluck]

[Enjoy the pretty much shower of corrupted demon blood as you annihilate a lot of the monster but also, maybe there are some like, yanking on Rowan's ankles now? That would be unfortunate.]

[amurdermostfowl]

[SURE WOULD BE!! SHAME HE'S TOO BUSY TRYING TO BOOK IT TO NOEL NOW-- oh nope he's on the ground now.]

[plotluck]

[The ground is such a nice place! There are at least a dozen friendly tentacles here on the ground immediately attempting to get to know Rowan better! They don't even have to get past clothes when he's not wearing any! A couple are definitely trying to pry into his mouth.

It's hard to see what Noel's up to from here.]
